JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Machine Operator position
performs the operation and maintenance of various production machines under the
supervisor and direction of the Processing Supervisor.

1.
Performs the careful handling of both cold and hot cooked meat products
2. Must
be familiar with product codes and specifications
3. Operates the following machines:
Comitrol (Grinder), Urschel (Shredder), and Tiromat
4. Monitors and controls settings (i.e
speed, temperature) of each machine
4. Cleans and switches machine blades and
molds according to product spec
5. Assembles and disassembles parts of the
machinery
6. Transports racks/containers full of meat
from cooler and sauce room to the processing room

Must be able to stand between 2 – 3 hours at a time.

Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the
company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of a
company approved frock, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no
shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on
clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no
supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
While performing the duties
of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cold temperatures as low as
38 degrees Fahrenheit. The floors in the environment are wet and can be
slippery.

Position Type/Expected
Hours of Work
This is a full-time
position. 40+ hours per week.
Hours of work: Monday through
Friday, start time: 7:00 am, finish time varies depending on workload.
10 – 12 hour work days are
common. Weekends and overtime hours are often required. Schedule is
subject to change with or without advance notice.

High school diploma or GED.

Previous experience as a machine operator or working in a manufacturing
environment
